In a New York minute.....

Somehow, I don't know how,

The New York minute has come to your town.

I often wondered what was so special about their minute, why it was so different from other minutes in other places.....

When you go there, it's a place of wide contrasts and contradictions....

Incredible wealth and one of the biggest homeless populations I've ever seen....

But it seems that one reason their minutes are different, is that they are on a hub, an intersection of information that can change everything in a minute.

Somehow, the whole world seems to have these hubs everywhere there is a power point, a computer, a TV set or a newspaper.

Somehow we are all living like New Yorkers, our fortunes reliant upon the latest news and shifts in politics, finance, art, religion, war, disease.....

People who have never understood the weather maps, glued to the rise and fall of the dollar and the latest insights from experts dumbing down information that get's edited to ten second grabs from technicians...

A confusing hotpot of fear, panic and mistrust, herds of people looking for simple clear solutions...

..and that they get, in a New York minute, usually one that involves religion, benefits politicians and ends up herding those people down a path chosen by whoever has the means to pay the media minions.
