On a family walk through a big local park on the weekend, my son stopped off to play on the swings.
There were a group of 15 year old rowdy boys playing nearby.
One of them yelled out: "I hate my life!"
It sounded so incongruent, so wrong and so out of place, I immediatly and without thinking yelled out back at him: "I love my life!"
What we say to ourselves has a direct impact on us.
I have personally found that saying "I love my life" to myself has created a mindset that is positive and resilient and that really works for me.
I can't even imagine what that young boy's mindset is creating for him.
I hope he heard me contradict him.
