Why Business Owners Lose Their Passion.

 I was talking with a business enterprise manager in New Zealand, when she let slip:

"I can't believe how little Small Business owners expect from their businesses!"

She explained how she had a background in community work and the people there:

"Worked tirelessly, passionately and enthusiastically - and they weren't even being paid!!!"

She was exasperated.

"But I know why business owners are like that."  she said.

"You see, in their first couple of years, they get loaded up with so much compliance work and there are so many tasks that need to be done by them, that they get overwhelmed and stay overwhelmed for that first couple of years.  Add to that, long hours and no time off and these guys aren't even thinking straight. 

They simply forget "Why" they started their business in the first place."

You know, I think she's right.

Since she'd said that, I've see hundreds of SME business owners who all have the same problem. They've lost their passion, their focus and their drive along the hard, day to day grind of no holidays and long hours.

....and when they stay awake at night, staring at the ceiling, it's not their passion that's keeping them up, it's their fears and worries!

....and when I help them remember their "Why", all the stops get pulled out and there is a whole lot of productive "Ease" in their life and their business.


Now, it's their passion that keeps them up at night and gets them out of bed in the morning!
