That's how it is for 90% of the population. They simply have no other possibility - they just can't see the forest - they only see the trees.
When you set a goal, you take a ride in the helicopter, above the forest and you look down and see where you are and you decide where you want to go.
The act of setting the goal forces you into the helicopter - a goal forces you to orient yourself and to plot the course between where you are now and where you want to be - the gap. The bit in between. The dash.
The act of setting goals unleashes energy and positive emotions. Meaning and purpose become part of your life. People like Nelson Mandela set goals in prison and immediately begin a journey that liberates and orientates them.
So if you are reading this and you don't have any goals you are currently in hot pursuit of...then by definition, you must be wandering around in the forest.
The good news is, that by reading this, you now know where you are.

cool! Now what about writing a scenario for when you are swimming purposefully across the sea and suddenly find yourself surrounded by sharks.... that would be helpful!
