You know the difference.
You go to do your exercise by yourself. It gets done, you keep your word. And on the days where you don't really want to do it, you probably do drag yourself there.
What happens when someone, not even someone with skills of your exercise, takes an interest in your fitness project and commits to coming with you to the gym, the field, the pool and just watches you do your exercises?
What happens to your performance technique?
What happens to your speed?
What happens to your "times"?
What happens to your motivation, when you know someone is "watching"?
Of course they improve!
It's the same with being accountable to someone to do something.
As soon as you know that someone else knows that you are planning to do something, you bring a whole new level of motivation and commitment to your actions.
...and even more so, the more you respect and admire that person.
So, if you are stuck with making the actions you need to make, if you aren't currently taking your task seriously - make yourself accountable to someone you admire and respect.
Watch your result!
